Area 21/22 - Ditidaht
This table was originally formed to develop and deliver the Cheewaht Watershed restoration plan, and was at that time called the Cheewaht Restoration Working Group. The working group was initiated in 2017 and focused on restoring the namesake watershed to as near as possible of a natural state before forestry development. Over the years, this group completed a Risk Assessment and significant salmon habitat restoration in this watershed. Table members included Ditidaht First Nation, NTC/Uu-a-thluk, Parks Canada, Ministry of Forests, BC Timber Sales, MC Wright & Associates, Central Westcoast Forest Society (now known as Redd Fish Restoration Society), Western Forest Products, Teal-Jones, Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), and West Coast Aquatic.
In 2021, the scope of the table shifted briefly to include all of the Ditidaht territory, shifting the table to the Ditidaht Restoration Working Group. Then in 2022, the scope continued to expand to all things fisheries related within Ditidaht territory to the Working Group for Ditidaht Fisheries, Production Planning, and Monitoring. The roundtable is no longer active. Current needs for a roundtable in the area are being assessed.
